ABSTRACT

Modern pharmacological studies have shown that Shengmai San has the effects of enhancing immunity and improving blood circulation, and Curcumae Longae Rhizoma(Jianghuang) has anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-oxidation and other functions. Shengmai San combined with Jianghuang is a new research direction in the study of anti-tumor of traditional Chinese medicines. The main treatment for nasopharyngeal carcinoma is radiation therapy, but radiation therapy can cause a variety of side effects, and it also changes the composition of the intestinal flora. In this study, the 16 s rDNA sequencing platform was used to perform macro-sequence sequencing of the intestinal flora samples of nude mice bearing the veins of Shengmai Jianghuang San, and then the results of intestinal flora data were analyzed to investigate the effect of Shengmai Jianghuang San on tumors. The results showed that Shengmai Jianghuang San combined with irradiation could enhance the therapeutic effect of tumor treatment. Radiation therapy would reduce the total number and diversity of intestinal flora in nude mice, and also change the structure of the flora. Shengmai Jianghuang San could protect the diversity of colonies, and also partially restore the colony imbalance caused by irradiation. This study provides a research idea for Shengmai Jianghuang San as a sensitizing adjuvant for radiotherapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the status and its influencing factors of job stressors in postpartum nurses with the second-child.Methods A total of 127 postpartum nurses with the second-child from 18 tertiary general hospitals in Beijing were investigated with general information questionnaire and the Nurse Stressor Scale. Results The scores of the Nurse Stressor Scale of postpartum nurses with the second-child were 487.99±209.37,mainly for the stressors of nature of nursing work, work load and family.Nature of the department, length of second-child maternity leave, satisfaction of income, appropriate adjustment and care of the department according to work position were the independent contributing factors(P<0.05).Conclusion The scores of the Nurse Stressor Scale of postpartum nurses with the second-child were in the middle level.Measures should be taken to ensure the length of the second-child maternity leave, arrange suitable work posts, raise salary, and give full care and support to postpartum nurses with the second-child in order to reduce their stress level.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>BACKGROUND</b>The most typical cardiac abnormality is conotruncal defects (CTDs) in patients with 22q11 deletion syndrome (22q11DS). HIRA (histone cell cycle regulator) gene, as one of the candidate genes located at the critical region of 22q11DS, was reported as possibly relevant to CTD in animal models. This study aimed to analyze the level of expression of the HIRA gene in tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) patients and the potential DNA sequence variations in the promoter region.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The messenger RNA (mRNA) expression was examined with quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction in 39 myocardial tissues of the right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) from TOF patients and 4 myocardial tissues of RVOT from noncardiac death children. The protein expression was detected using immunohistochemistry in 12 TOF patients and 4 controls. A total of 100 TOF cases and 200 healthy controls were recruited for DNA sequencing.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The mRNA and protein expressions of the HIRA gene in the myocardium of the TOF patients were both significantly lower as compared to the controls (P < 0.05). Five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), including g.4111A>G (rs1128399), g.4265C>A (rs4585115), g.4369T>G (rs2277837), g.4371C>A (rs148516780), and g.4543T>C (rs111802956), were found in the promoter region of the HIRA gene. There were no significant differences of frequencies in these SNPs between the TOF patients and the controls (P > 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The abnormal lower expression of the HIRA gene in the myocardium may participate in the pathogenesis of TOF.</p>

ABSTRACT

@#Objective To investigate the effect of early rehabilitation on neurological function and cerebral blood flow of patients with acute cerebral infarction.Methods100 cases of acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into the rehabilitation group(53 cases) and control group(47 cases). Both groups received the routine treatment;besides, patients in the rehabilitation group were treated with early rehabilitation training. The treatment efficacy was assessed by neurological function deficit evaluation, and the cerebral blood flow was measured by transcranial Doppler(TCD) before and 30 days after treatment.ResultsThe scores of neurological function deficit evaluation of all patients in each group decreased after treatment, but the scores of the rehabilitation group were obviously lower than that of the control group(P<0.01);and the results of TCD of the rehabilitation group were also superior to that of the control group(P<0.01).ConclusionEarly rehabilitation training may obviously improve neurological function and cerebral blood flow of patients with acute cerebral infarction.
